Default Need to send unlocked phone to Apple for repair - advice needed

I have virginized it but I understand the baseband is changed by anySim. Is there anything else I can do to make it "original?"

This phone showed a "repair needed" message OOB. After a full charge, the message was gone so I unlocked & activated it. It has never worked right. Now the "repair needed" message is back so Apple says send it in for repair.

At this point, will Apple discover my modding?

From what I've read on the forum so far, the following seems to be the easiest and the most succesful way of getting a replacement/repair from Apple:

    1. Fry your phone. Use a high voltage source, microwave it, do whatever. Make sure it doesn't boot.
    2. Go to apple, act dumb and angry. Yell at them for selling you a defective product. Don't even mention the words "jailbreak", "unlock", "third party apps", "modding", "hacking" etc.
    3. Take your new iphone and enjoy.

The rest is up to you. Keep us posted

I returned a bricked phone. I fried the battery so that it didn't turn on.

I took an old ipod cable cut it where the USB cable goes and connected the red and black wires to a 12 volt car battery. The phone got hot and the battery lost the ability to charge again. I drained the battery by making the phone ring and vibrate which took 3 hours but it was totally drained. The genius attempted to turn on the phone but couldn't and i got a new phone right there.

BTW If you connect the green and white wires of the iPod cable to a high voltage source it will disable the ability of the phone to connect to your computer.

They replace it because cost of battery is nothing comparing to price of manufacturing whole device. They will just replace battery, put a brand new software and sell it again.

How long did you have it connected to the battery?

Must say you are really brave. I thought the battery will have a voltage regulating circuit, but you must have fried it! Be careful if someone is trying this, it may physically damage the iphone.
