Default Need help in updating to 1.1.3 (confused!)

I have honestly done some searching and read numerous posts before asking this question. There is so much information available here that at this point I just don't know what the right thing to do is!

    Here's my situation:
I currently have a 1.1.2 phone that's jailbroken and unlocked and working great.
This unit was purchased OTB 1.0.2 then the baseband revirginized and updated to 1.1.1 and finally updated to 1.1.2 unlocked with Anysim.

The phone is around 8 months old and from what I understand looking at the serial number is a week 33, therefore a 3.9BL (I think)

Now I'd like to move up to 1.1.3. What is the best way to do this using a Mac with OSX Tiger.

Do I need to check if the phone is 3.9BL or is it a given it is considering it's 8 months old and 1.0.2 OTB.

Some help would be greatly appreciated!

Your iPhone has 3.9BL (to verify go to Installer and add source trejan.com/irepo), refresh sources and in you should find BaseBandInfo, intall it and it will provide you info that you need) ...

Since I'm not a Mac user i can only advise you to follow some of this tutorials on www.hackthatphone.com like this one :

    http://www.hackthatphone.com/113/iph...t_yet_mac.html

and you should be fine, a little edit: DO NOT FORGET TO DOWNLOAD 1.1.3 (you can do it from here: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=22056 or
    http://iphone.unlock.no/#restore-firmware-files

since iTunes will Download 1.1.4 (LATEST version)

All you have to do is get the "Official 1.1.3 Upgrader" from Installer. Process takes about 30minutes from start to finish and the end result is a Jailbroken, unlocked, 1.1.3 iPhone. Hope that helps!
I can confirm that this method works as I have done it numerous times before.

Sorry i can't reccomend that method, seems to heve some issues later regarding syncing with iTunes (mainly after upgrade to 7.6.1), a friend of mine bricked (almost) his iPhone just trying to sync with iTunes, and i know that he used that method, so did I, but afterwards did a clean install .... ,and there are not so isolated cases, that jailbreak/upgrade is not done so well .... like i said i recommend CLEAN RESTORE, and rest of it.

As it's from the official dev. team, I would have imagined it would be more or less bug free. That said, I did upgrade with this method after a clean restore so I can't give you a 100% bug free guarantee. What I would recommend based on this thread alone, is the following:
    1. Backup phone apps, contacts etc with iPhone PC Suite.
    2. Backup songs with CopyTrans.
    3. Restore iPhone with iTunes.
    4. Unlock with ziphone.
    5. Upgrade with the "Official 1.1.3 Upgrader".
    6. Restore all apps and contacts with iPhone PC Suite.
    7. Restore all music with iTunes.

I can pretty much confirm 100% this will work on a clean phone as I have been using my 1.1.3(dev. team upgraded) phone for the past two weeks without a hitch.

I hoped I helped as much as possible.

Restore to what version in step 3?
Where do you jailbreak to get installer and the official 1.1.3 upgrader?

So you are saying that the OP should restore to 1.0.2?

What about my second question?Where do you jailbreak to get installer to run the 1.1.3 upgrader?
