Hello everyone, I recently purchased a brand new iphone 4gb and I had unlocked it using the ibrickr method and I did it perfectly. Then I got really stupid and tried to install the install.app and then its screwed up my iphone completely so I try to restore it back into the factory settings and then reuse the ibrickr method and after ibrickr installed the files, it would just come back to activate iphone please connect your iphone to itunes.

I do not know what to do now. I can't use ibrickr when the phone doesnt come back to springboard anymore. I tried switching sim cards...didnt work.

I did download all the restore files (86mb each approximately) and everytime I try to click on them, they always start up itunes and itunes makes me install the latest firmware which i read in an article that apple is preventing hackers from unlocking.

Someone please help me, I will even donate to you if you can help me get my iphone working again. Thank you to everyone!!

what you're really looking for is to completely restore your iPhone with the restore file that you've downloaded.

And no need to click on the restore files. Read this thread

xeroskye, do you know if you have firmware version 1.0.2? If not, you will need to upgrade to 1.0.2. I did a couple of 4gb iPhones starting with iBrickr and on both units, I upgraded to 1.0.2 before doing anything else.

When iTunes ask to upgrade your iPhone, it should also display the version it intends to upgrade to. If it shows 1.0.2, it will be safe for you to proceed with the upgrade.

Can anyone link me to the 1.0.2 firmware?

I have another problem
I think itunes just updated my 8gb to the newest firmware so i can't get to the connect to itunes screen..
it just keeps repeating the apple logo twice and turns off. when i turn it back on it says activate iphone please connect to itunes
