My iPhone turned into an iPod.
Earlier I was listening to my iPod with my iPhone and someone called me and my phone froze. I resetted it but the top right corner instead of saying AT&T and the signal bar and EDGE, it changed to plain iPod.
I tried resetting it again, but it didn't do anything. I don't want to do anything with it yet since I want to keep all my contacts and stuff, but is there any sollution without going into any hardcore downgrading and stuff?

if you restore through iTunes you keep your contacts as long as iTunes makes the backups.

a restore should work right? but how does itunes keep the contact? how can i make a backup?

Interesting.
When you state "resetting", do you mean turn the iPhone off completely (hold top button, then slide to turn off), of did you just switch it to standby then on again?
Does iTunes recognize the phone when you plug it in? Maybe you can back up contact etc then do a restore.

What does "plain iPod" mean? What does it say there (I assume top left corner), and what icons do you see?

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.
Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
* on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
* on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

It just says iPod. And when I unlock my phone, it doesn't show any apps. All I can do is listen to music by double tapping the main button and getting to the iPod app, receive calls and text. I can't reply on the text or make any calls.

That's very strange. Could it be that you restored your phone with iTunes and used the firmware for the iPod Touch?
