so heres my situation
i bought a iphone used ibricki to activate and anysim to unlock it...ibricki was fine but when it came to anysim i got an error saying "couldnt locate bytes patch"
i put my sim card in and it shows a bar....when i take the sim card out it doesnt even say "no sim installed" i tried doing the flashing baseband and it succeed but i had no service and stupid me i tried anysim again and this time i got an error saying something" cant connect to baseband or something" my wifi and youtube works fine but my sim cards dont work...i just get a bar
i tried restoring it but still have the same problem
and now when i try to do the flashing baseband i cant even connect to my phone with putty the ssh connection as i get a error saying "connection refused"

im about to throw this phone into the wall as its been buggin me nonstop

can someone please help me on this issue

try restoring to 1.02 that sometimes works
or
put the app uictrl on the phone using ibricker its in the repository
start app and load the commcenter

or if neither of the above work

search the forums for virgin restore and follow the guide
involves manually flashing the baseband with .fls and .eep
then reunlocking

question regarding the virgin restore
when i restore it in itunes will it update it to 1.1.1 firmware because for some reason my itunes updated itself

is there a itunes downlaod that is for 1.02??

and also regarding the limit on unlock attempts what happens if i reached that limit is there a way to bypass it??

ipsf is the only one sofar that resets the lock attempts

when restoring hold shift(pc) or option(mac) and choose the following restore image

so when restoring
i dont use itunes to restore??
i just hook it up to the comp and press shift aand restore?

restore by holding down home on the phone and connecting to the computer itunes will start and ask you to restore then hold shift and click restore

I have been doing this for a few needy people and its worked so far

I had this same problem. I successfully unlocked my phone with anysim the first time. Then I decided to restore my Iphone and start all over. Then I used anysim again, and It gave me that "cannot locate bytes" error. After a lot of figuring things out. I finally figured how to fix it. But this is only if you're phone was previously unlocked. Doesn't hurt to try it out, it's broke anyways right?

Restore your iphone again, with Firmware 1.02.

Jailbreak it with iBrickr if you're on a PC.

Upload "lockdownd" to "/usr/libexec/"

Restart iPhone. Hopefully your phone works now.

you do not need to run an unlock after restoring 1.02 it will stay unlocked
