Unhappy Is my iPhone bricked for good?

Bought an iphone already unlocked with 1.02. Based on the instructions in this forum, it appears it was unlicked with Anysim 1.0.
I revirginized and upgraded to 1.11 and got the 0049 IMEI issue. Everything else such as wifi, jailbreak, BSD, SSH worked though. I restored it down to 1.02 and replaced the lockdownd file. This is where everything went wrong. THe PC will not see the phone while connected to the USB any more. It still had WiFi going to web sites but I can't ping it so no SSH or winSCP. iBrick just errors out and says no phone was detected even though the phone was connected to USB. iTunes won't even see it unless it is in restore mode.

I restored it one more time but this time, I get the consistent yellow triangle telling me to connect to iTunes. ITunes now will give me a 1013 error when I try to restore. I cant seem to connect to the phone at all.
In itunes, it is showing N/A for capacity, software, serial number, phone number. Is there anyway to get this back or do I try to exchange it via Apple? will they be able to find out this was unlocked and had Anysim on it?

    Thx in advance!

i was in the same case as u!, what i did is upgrade to 1.1.1 then downgrade to 1.0.2 and restore baseband to 03.14.08_G and all became to normal, i have an ipod touch by now, i have the 0049 issue and nothing seems to fix it, tried every freaking guide in all forums of iphone and none seems to fix the 0049 and thats why we get the "incorrect sim" all the time in iphone, everything works except the phone thing because it seems that we damaged the iphone gsm stuff and we need to recreate the IMEI in some way, we just cant recover it, IPSF claim to fix the problem but its a pay solution and its not guaranteed to work, here are some guide to try to fix it by ur own and free but none worked in my case, i still have an iphone with IMEI 0049 after like 25guides. We need to wait some time to see if the dev team or someone can create a seczone or imei creator so we can fix the problem or something that can help us, we have 4 ways to follow, i found by now is or use of a hardware trick or try the paying IPSF and see if it help u, in my case im not going to pay $129 US dollars here in mexico, they are thiefs, because they say if i was a client i could pay $55usdollars but since im not thats the problem, sell the iphone and buy a new one, or wait until someone find a fix to this but maybe theres none and we screwd our iphones, so its ur choice. we are not the only ones in this case, there are others like king1199 and so on...

Good luck!, if u find a way to fix pls tell me!!

Thanks for sharing the pain. I can't even use it as an iTouch i I wanted to. I cant get pass the yellow triangle.

Before this, the PC will not see it connected to the USB unless it is in recovery mode. It can go out on wifi but I cant ping the ip address.

I think I will try to get an exchange from Apple. I am assuming that since I cant see the serial #, capacity from within iphone, they will have to wipe the phone clean and reinstall the os from scratch so maybe they wont see iBrick and anysim on it.

There is no clean "wipe". Maybe you're lucky and the Apple Store guys exchange it for a new one without checking on it but if they have to send it in, well...

well, there was a thread where the guy got hassled at the Apple store but when he called it in, they sent him a fedex box to return and then a new one.

I'll try either one and see. It doesnt seem like there is any fix for this right now and I can connect to the phone to fix it even if there is one.

Well, I restored it to 1.12 and the is no longer displaying the yellow triangle and I can get to the springboard. ITunes cant display the phone says the phone is damaged and I should take it to an apple store.

    IMEI is still the 0049....

    Hi BeerHunter,

Same problem here, I had to upgrade to 1.1.2 because that was the only thing itunes let me do to try to get out of the yellow triangle problem.

Now, i cant revert to 1.1.1 or older because I get Error 1.

Itunes says my iphone is damaged...

If you find out a solution please let me know.

    A.M.

The "1013" error could have been solved if you followed the instructions here...

I was able to downgrade it back to 1.02 from 1.12. However, the baseband is at4.02.13_G. I guess I have to flash the baseband.

I was able to install BSD, Open SSH and copy the revirginize files using iBrick. I am unable to ping the phone using Putty. I do have wifi and assigned it a static addr. It can go out on Safari but just can ping it.

Is there any way I can run terminal either on the phone or via usb only?

Or should I run another restore to 1.02 and follow the instructions to resolve the 1013 error from http://www.unlockthatiphone.com/down...ocked=unlocked

ever guide says the 1013 is ok and just close itunes....doh!

I followed the page and was able to downgrade to 1.02 again. ran thru the whole process and after virginizing the phone at 1.02, the IMEI changed from 0049 but the baseband remained at 4.02.13_G. when I restarted the phone, the IMEI reverted back to 0049 and I still get the incorrect sim error. I have not upgraded to 1.11 yet. should I manually reflash the baseband again?
