I tried updating to 1.1.3 last night and the iPhone software process always stopped at the 4/5 mark (the process line stopped at the 'g' in Jailbreaking). It eventually restarted on it's own more than an hour after I started it but it didn't complete. When I went back into my phone everything was reset to factory settings. All my contacts were gone; pics, MP3s, everything. I tried to do it over again a couple of times with no luck so I thought I'd go back to unlocking it all over again like I did at xmas when I got the phone. Back then I remember downgrading all the way to 1.0.2 and then up again, but I can't find those instructions for the life of me. The instructions I do fine are for going to 1.1.1 and Jailbreaking that. I go through the beginning steps of that just like all the How To's explain.
iTunes 7.5, shift button and update, and choose the 1.1.1 firmware.
iBrickr to get it out of recovery mode.
As soon as iTunes sees it again I get "Could not complete the iTunes Store request. The store may be busy" I can actually go to the store, but that comes up whenever I click on my iPhone in iTunes. Been doing this for hours.
With iTunes closed I do the other steps to go to the prefs, set up the WiFi and go to the Jailbreakme page. I can do all this no prob but when I get to the Jailbreakme page and click install it boots me back to the main screen instantly with no downloading or anything, and it's not jailbroken. It doesn't reboot and I still cant get to the Springboard.
I've tried calling it every curse I could think of too. That also didn't work. Any help?
