But now the whole phone number matching thing doesn't work. Then again, it's your iPhone, not mine

While this *will* prevent MobilePhone and MobileSMS from crashing, it leaves you with non-working International/Local Caller ID. If you want a properly working iPhone then use the third way, which is called "pntedit".

EDIT: Oh yeah, the reason why I replied was to say that there is a Mac OS X i386 and ppc version of "pntedit".
Man what does this mean ("Oh yeah, the reason why I replied was to say that there is a Mac OS X i386 and ppc version of "pntedit") ?!

Is there a way to fix this thing with correct local/international matching for the contacts ? (Yes/ or No)

If yes, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE prescribe with noobie way. If No, thanks for your help.

Yes. You already found the instructions, just do it. The only thing you need to know is how to use a command line interface (CLI) program.

You download the "pntedit" program, copy AppSupport from your iPhone to your PC/Mac, run "pntedit read AppSupport table.txt", edit table.txt, run "pntedit write AppSupport table.txt AppSupport.Patched" and copy the patched AppSupport to your iPhone, done.

It's on page 23 of that thread. Look for the sendspace URL.

OK this is a really basic dumb question - ive done the app patch thing etc but was wondering.......

When adding contacts to your phone is it best to put the whole number in i.e. including international code (even for home country numbers where not necessary)

The reason I ask is if I pop over to another country (country patched of course) I guess all my home country contacts will not work unless I added the full international code (even though 99% of the time I would actually be in my own country and just dial the basic number)

Sorry just a dumb thing I thought of (I dont travel THAT much lol)
