Default Mistake in upgrading 1.1.1 to 1.1.2, help!

    Hello guys,

I did a mistake in upgrading the iPhone from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2.

I followed the guide of iClarified (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=358), unfortunately I missed the first important step: use iTunes to update to the latest firmware (1.1.2) before starting the tutorial.

I downgraded my 1.1.1 iPhone to 1.0.2 and now I'm stuck at this point: the iPhone firmware version is 1.0.2 and I run AnySIM 1.2.1u which only works for 4.02.13G firmwares. After running AnySIM I got this message: "Couldn't load secpack".

Then I didn't do anything because I was too scared

Do you think I can simply upgrade to 1.1.2 with iTunes and then repeat the tutorial?

    Thanks!

Um, it's probably smart to virginize...(i.unlock.no). Then follow the tutorial at iClarified.

    Just to be sure!

    Thank you tarque!

I read the instruction at i.unlock.no in order to verginize it.

    But the instruction say:

"You would want to do this if you upgraded to 1.1.1, and now have 0049xxx IMEI, and Modem version 04.01.13_G"

Actually my iPhone was 1.1.1 and the modem version was 04.01.13_G, however now it's 1.0.2 and the modem version is blank (I typed in *3001#12345#* and clicked on "Version").

As I said I just to ran AnySIM 1.2.1u on the 04.01.13_G firmware instead of 4.02.13G.

    Any idea about it?

    Thanks a lot guys.

Just run the virginize method from the i.unlock.no (dont need to activate or run anysim at this point), then "RESTORE" it to 1.1.1 by using "shift button" and click on restore to pickup the 1.1.1 firmware, jailbreak it, install oktoprep from installer, and then upgrade (NOT RESTORE) TO 1.1.2. (make sure itunes finds your iphone), Once you are on 1.1.2. do the jailbreak method (using the window.bat on PC) follow one of the guides that are sticky posts, and then you should run 1.2.1u anysim, i have done this twice. Follow one of the guides and "DONīT miss any step"

Thank you a lot guys. That worked great. I just virginized the iPhone and then updated it to 1.1.2. Then I followed the guide for unlocking 1.1.2 iPhones.

    I assume you have a 1.0.2 iPhone.

    1) Set Settings → General → Auto Lock → Never
    1.5) Install AppTapp (http://www.nullriver.com/~zigzag/AppTappInstaller.zip).
1.6) If the installer doesn't work, open the packages contents and copy Installer.app to the iPhone application folder using Fugu, Transmit or any SFTP client.
    2) Install BSD SubSystem found in System Category.
    3) Go to Sources and tap edit and add http://i.unlock.no/ (if you haven't already).
    4) Now install "The Virginizer" found in Unlocking Tools category. This will take almost 10 minutes.
    5) When done, restore your phone to get 1.1.1 firmware reinstalled.
    6) Use Independence to enter the iPhone in restore mode.
    7) Use iTunes to downgrade it to 1.0.2 (option+click or shift+click on "Restore" and select the 1.0.2 firmware)
    8) You will get an error at the end of the restore process, it's normal
    9) Use independence to activate 1.0.2
    10) Update to 1.1.2 (NOT RESTORE)
    11) From now on follow the guide at: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=358
