Default Messed up Wi-Fi on 1.02

    Hey there,

I had an unlocked 1.0.2 and tried to upgrade to 1.1.1. This resulted in a messed up Wi-Fi driver or whatever. Most WLANs cannot be found anymore or the connection is too choppy for anything to work.

Then i downgraded again to 1.0.2 and used ibrickr to activate. Still the wi-fi is messed and now unlocking with anySim wont work anymore. It tells me the firmware is already patched but my SIM card is not accepted.

Virginizing with the virginzer pack does not work either. The script abords when pinging the baseband at the point where it should not respond but it still does.

Im rather clueless what to do now. Any suggestions? Please bear in mind, i cant use wi-fi atm. A fix to that problem probably solves everything else though.

Sorry to say this brckr but it looks as it might be a hardware failure, I had the same problem with mine.
I have checked alot of forums where the same problems exist and the only solution they provide is that you should return it. I also believe that Apple is aware of this problem, because users that return the phone get a new one, no questions asked.

If theres any chance you can virginize and return, do so, otherwise there isnt anything solution to this.

Ah crap, not exactly what I wanted to read. But thanks for the reply.

Any idea what s going wrong with the virginizing process? Is it necessary that the baseband does not respond or can i just continue overwriting?

    No!
I got my phone bricked, according to my brother who gave me the phone, the wifi was working. Since he didn't know how to unlock the phone by himself, he gave it to a company to open the phone. They manged to unlock it, but when I received it for my birthday the wifi was not able to find my network. I have a MAC address and I can turn on the WiFi. I tried with different networks had the same problems.

I return the phone to the company to try and troubleshoot the No Wifi problem but even the tech support couldn't fix it. So they gave me the money back for unlocking it and asked me to return it. The problem is that I am based in Sweden so there no chance for me to return it until April when I visit my brother in LA.
