    Default Maintaining Warranty?

    Hi there,

I want to unlock an iPhone (1.1.3 OTB) but now restored/updated to 1.1.4, but still want to maintain my warranty (UK).

    a. How do I do this using ZiPhone?

    b. This is something to do with downgrading the bootloader, so are there any drawbacks to keeping the original bootloader?

    Many thanks

Just DO NOT downgrade your bootloader and your warranty will be OK .....

    Wow very confusing thread!

    As far as I understand...

    1. Open ZiPhone 2.5 - click the 'Don't Unlock' button
    2. One this process is complete the phone is now jailbroken and activated
    3. Now continue and run ZiPhone 2.3 - and select to unlock only
    4. Once complete this should leave the original bootloader 4.6

    Is that correct?

I dont understand why 2.5 does not present an option not to downgrade the bootloader.

The only real disadvantage to keeling bootloader 4.6 is that the Location feature of Google Maps doesn't work without periodically running LocateMe or Navizon. Personally, I would recommend against a bootloader downgrade as the risks outweigh that small benefit for the time being.
