    Question Lockdown File

Can anybody clarify a point for me?

I have seen some tutorials for AnySim that require you to replace the lockdown file and others that do not.

Is it always necessary to replace the lockdown file?

It is not compulsory. However, it would be a paint in the ass if you don't patch the file because this file is required in order for the iphone to recognize different SIM any time you switch. Instead, you will have to reactivate the phone anytime you change your SIM. Get the idea yet?

Thanks! That makes perfect sense now. I suppose I won't be swapping the SIM that often so I may leave the lockdown file as it is.

How will patching the lockdown affect an already activated phone (and youtube)?

I'm not quite understand what you mean. But the iphone without the lockdown patched will give you the incorrect Sim message or it won't recognize the new Sim, which you just switch. That ls why you need to activate again to get the phone function work. I'm not sure about other functions.

You don't need to patch the lockdown to activate the iPhone. Mine was activated using iNdpedence, so the lockdown was never patched. The phone works only for my SIM now, and of course needs to be activated each time I switch to another SIM. That is why I am asking about the lockdown and how it affects a previously activated phone.

I see what you mean. As i say the lookdown will help you to skip the activate step everytime you switch Sim in the future. The Iphone will automatically regconize the new SIM without having to activate again. Now you got me?

Yes I know that . My question is, will patching the lockdown on an already activated phone break anything, like youTube for example?
