Default lets make it clear - what makes bad imei (0049) on 04.02 bb?

i want to be sure that i know what makes this bothering problem so i won't make any mistakes with my friends iphone.
it's a kind of responsible and of course i'm sure that the rest of the forum members would be much happier than me to know this information.

    Hi,
As I have a lot of friends with bad IMEI, I know some of the causes:
-1.0.2 unlocked with anySIM1.02, iUnlock, hardware or such then updated to 1.1.1 without verginizing first.
-Run anySIM1.1 on 1.1.1 without BSD Subsystem installed.

I don't know if there are other ways to brick a phone with bad IMEI, these are the ones I know...

    Hope it helps

i'm talking about the unrepairable bad imei on 04.02 bb (the 1.1.2 modem).
if there is no any software unlock for these what makes bad imei?

The 0049 imei can be cause by attempting to unlock too many times, causing the unlock counter to go to 0. You can only unlock/try to unlock 5 times.

So yes, an iPhone can be deemed unrepairable by a software issue. The only fix for this that would be a new comm board.

So Dev Team put an option that you can try to unlock only 5 times?

The person who fixed my iPhone.

'I have finished diagnostics on your unit it appears the the NCK unlock
counter has caused the issue with you IMEI'

    His exact words.

    I don't know if it's officially 5 unlocks but that's just what I've heard.
