if you do a RESTORE you will be able to get out of DFU mode with any tool available
I did a restore to 1.1.1 twice and I cannot get out of recovery mode with Independence 3 beta 2. Tried repeatedly. Any other help. I do not know how use iPhuc to connect to my iPhone. I also tried downloader iBrickr on windows XP in parallels and it just sits on the opening screen.
Thanks.

Well, I fixed it by restoring a second time to 1.1.1 and then Independence was able to get it out of recovery mode and the rest of the process worked flawlessly. Now, I have a unlocked 1.1.2 iPhone working perfectly on Rogers network in Canada.
