Because my Dad is going to his Cousine in the USA and he will buy one for me.
it can't be unlocked... since the iphone sticks with the new baseband/modem firmware 04.01.13_g... if you found the way to replace that with 03.14.08_g you'll be able to unlock..
    Cheers!

    Red face

So when you get your iphones do not brick them! Wait til devTeam has a solution for 1.1.1 is. Perhaps you have to wait another few weeks or even months...
I am convinced that dev team will be able to solve problems with 1.1.1.
At the end it will be better to have a plain 1.1.1 firmware than a mix of 1.0.2 for the iphone and a wrong firmware for the baseband modem.

So do you suggest not to even downgrade it so it can be used as an ipod? can't you just update it back to 1.1.1 when there is a solution to unlock?

When there is a unlock version for 1.1.1 it is the best to have your phone with an untouched firmware...
If you dont want to wait you can restore to 1.0.2, if you want to have phone functionality available at once use TurboSim method. Bladox is accepting orders again. With the TurboSim method you can use your phone immediatly, even with new firmware on the baseband.
    best regards mm

I'll be happy with ipod function for now, does that require a downgrade? but then is it not good for the phone to downgrade?
