Default Just to be clear; 1.1.1 iPhone, INDEPENDENCE in OSX + anySIM = iPhone unlock?

Since I got my 1.0.2 phone working with Anysim and independence on my mac, I'm going to use the mac to activate, jailbreak and simunlock my 1.1.1 iphone aswell.

    My BIG question:

If I now use the new Independence version was it 1.2.3? and follow the instructions in the help menu on how to activate and jailbreak (lot more steps than with the 1.0.2 version independence) will I then be able to simunlock my 1.1.1 iphone using anySIM???

    Just to be sure.

The second phone is a birthday gift, so I hate to mess things up.

    THANKS

Same question over here. I just got a stock 1.1.1.

Do I need to downgrade to 1.0.2 first or can I just proceed to activate/jailbreak 1.1.1? Independence says it cannot only fix 1.1.1 by downgrading to 1.0.2 first.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You ll need to jailbreak 1.1.1 ( which means downgrade to 1.0.2 jailbreak + other stuf) then upgrade to 1.1.1 so you still have jailbreak on, install anysim on 1.1.1 and use it! = UNLOCKED PHONE

oK 1.1.1 iPhone + Independance + anysim = maybe unlock
Here is the thing. Independence requires you to be at 1.0.2 and do a special upgrade where it prepares the files for it to do the upgrade and then iTunes applies 1.1.1... So you need a 1.0.2 firmware to get it activated and jailbreaked under 1.1.1
BUT you can follow other guides that don't need to be prepped (look around).
Next you need to make sure no prior version of AnySIM has been used on the phone. Even if you restore it using bbupdater and the eraser apps it still doesnt restore everything back to its original condition. Trust me, I tried this and it didnt work.
Lastly you need the latest official release of AnySIM.

    Beyond that your set.

Hi. Thanks for the info, really helpful. But still there is one thing I don't understand.

Its regarding changing sims. The "lockdownd" file I previously used with 1.0.2. to change sims, without the need to reactivate, can't be used in 1.1.1. correct? Is there another file I can use or another method?

    Thanks!

By the way, I have a virgin 1.1.1. out of the box, can't wait to start unock process but just want to make sure what I'm doing, must do independence 1.2.3. -> donwgrade 1.0.2. -> jailbreak -> upgrade 1.1.1. -> unlock with anysim 1.1.1. <--- correct?

    Thanks again!
