jailbreak issue
I can't jailbreak my phone, as soon as i click "free your phone" i got the following message: "Looks like you need to download the iPhone firmware. Fire up iTunes with your iPhone plugged in, and hit the Restore button. Once the download starts, unplug your iPhone. When the download finishes, click away the error message in iTunes, and close iTunes. Plug your iPhone back in, and click Check again.", but my phone is updated and therefore itunes doesn't download anything. Can someone please help me?

Are u located outside the US? Download the 1.0.2 file and save it to Application/Data. Is your phone straight out of the box?

Yes I'm in Italy. Is out of the box, but i did the restore (home button + on off) and itunes downlloaded the 1.02. But now if I do again it doesn't download it anymore. Is probably in the pc already but I can't find it. which is the extension of the file? Also, i run Vista and i do not have application/data.
Thanks
Fabrizio

Connect to iTunes. There should be two buttons in itunes. 1 says upgrade, second says restore. Hit restore and itunes will begin downloading. Unplug the phone once it's downloading.
Nothing more to it.

download restore file from here
http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....8_Restore.ipsw
hold down shift(pc) option(mac) and click restore
choose restore file
otherwise winstaller will look for the restore file in its own folder put it in the folder and run jailbreak
search your computer for the file iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw
to find restore image
jailbreak uses the downloaded image file patches it and restores thats why jailbreak programs download it
it often downloads to another location. apptap and ibricker both do it. after its download once for either it won't download again

when restoring hold shift down and click restore to select the restore image where ever it is (in itunes)
yes after holding down home and connecting to pc
yes the downladed file iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw
is the one they all use. just let apptap download it again to jailbreak
good luck
