Hi folks,

I have an iPhone which was 1.1.2/4.6 OTB in the UK with O2.

For some months now I used it on 1.1.2 by jailbreaking & activating it and then using an O2 pay as you go simcard.

I restored the phone to 1.1.4 and then tried to jailbreak & activate using ZiPhone. This worked fine but left me with no signal (just no bars, it didnt actually say "No service"). I restored to 1.1.4 again and tried iLiberty+ with the exact same result.

I restored to 1.1.4 several times and tried again using different combinations but same result still.

Any ideas? I presume I can go back to 1.1.2 but I'd like to get rid of that damn 1000 message limit!

Note that wifi works fine and I have never unlocked the phone.

I notice now folks that when I do a fresh restore of 1.1.4 I have no signal bars even on the emergency screen, and I can't dial the emergency services.

Interestingly though, if I jailbreak it I can succesfully use "Locate Me" in Google Maps - with accuracy. So it must be connected on some level.

So this issue is not relating to the activation/jailbreak procedure specifically, it's just that my phone isn't connecting when it's on 1.1.4?

I presume ZiPhone didnt do anything to the BL/BB since I only used it for activation and jailbreak.

Any ideas?

1.1.4 LOCKS the phone to ALL SIMCARDS except the O2 iPhone Contract SIMS.

O2 PAYG and normal O2 contract SIMs will both not work.

You will have to unlock now to be able to use the phone part unless you start an official O2 contract.

Use iLiberty+ as its fully reversible and will be compatible with pwned when it is released as well.

There is no way to go back to 1.1.2 now (as the baseband remains at 1.1.4) so unlocking is the only way!
