    connect iphone to pc
    power phone off
hold power and home button for about 20-30 secs until you get itunes symbol and cable (phone has to be off to start that)

When I first started tinkering with my phone I had the same concern. What if Apple were to somehow shut off the ability to restore a hacked phone from iTunes?

After I thought about it a little, there's really no way they ever could. Once the phone goes into DFU or Restore mode, iTunes can't tell anything besides "iPhone in distress".

Once it's restored it can, but that's the key... Once it's restored.

Hope that helps ease your mind a little =) We'll be able to restore forever methinks!

I would imagine that most of us "shift/restore" without an internet connection anyways. Now, I am an ATT customer, so after I restore, I will turn on my wifi so that I get activated with the correct tokens, but everyone else can iPlus or ZiPhone their way back to activation.

If it ever happened that Apple did away with the restore button, I would never update my iTunes again. Or, at least have a backup copy of 7.6 laying around.
