[iTunes 7.6] Is it safe to upgrade to ?
Hello everybody,
I own an iPhone 1.1.2 OOTB that I downgraded to 1.1.1, jailbroken/activated, then upgraded to 1.1.2 and using an "iphonesimfreer" together with a not-AT&T SIM (that by the way has to be MANDATORILY 64k version for the iphonesimfreer to work!!!!!) and so far I have NO PROBLEMS AT ALL with all the functions of the iPhone (except for visual voicemail, of course...).
Now the point is:
My Mac is asking to update iTunes from 7.5 to 7.6, but I'm reaaly worried that by doing this I'll break the "sync" ability of my iPhone...
Of course I'LL NEVER UPDATE my iPhone firmware to 1.1.3 unless some brave forum member will instruct us cowards to do so, but even the idea of loosing sync due to iTunes 7.6 scares me to death! And I'm asking you all if anyone is in a close position to mine, did it and found that NOTHING is broken.
Thanks in advance,
pP

nothing is gonna be broken at all ...100% working fine here ...u will just see 2 MAJOR CHANGES in 7.6
1. u can manually manage ur music and video items on iphone
2. supported video formats are SO EASILY imported to itunes (ones couldnt be imported before)
its not gonna ever force iphone to update or auto check for updates ..if ur not checking the option.

I have had no problems with the new iTunes 7.6 update. I have a USA- OTB 1.1.2 week 48 iPhone. My phone is running off of a Black Stealthsim.

Just a word of caution I installed 7.6 on my PC and iTunes started using 100% of my cpu, to the point that every song I played would skip and stutter. I did a google search and others have had the same issue, but it only seems to affect PCs and not Macs.
So long story short, if you use a Mac, upgrade to iTunes 7.5. If you use a PC, keep 7.5 and wait for Apple to patch 7.6. Once you upgrade to the newer version, your library no longer works with the old one (found this out the hard way...rebuilding it now).

There is something wrong wit iTunes 7.6 i tried to downgrade a friend's 1.1.2 OTB iPhone on it to 1.1.1 and everything went normal, then at the moment we tried the jailbrake process the iphone wasn't responding. After a several tries we did an update to 1.1.2 again and installed 7.5, repeated the whole process an this time it was succesful, so there have to be a problem with that.
