Heh, call quality and audio are weak because of AT&T, not the iPhone. I find the call quality and audio to be perfectly reasonable with T-Mobile on my iPhone. My friend who has AT&T on his bitches constantly about dropped calls.

I really dont know what Jobs is thinking. Didn't Apple learn its lessons during the period between the original Mac and the iPod. That was not a good time for Apple. So when you have the momentum why go and screw all the early adopters and key influencers out there!! It does not make sense. I guarantee that almost all the attendees of the last Apple Worldwide Dev Conference have an iPhone. And I bet that all of them have installed Apps (thats what they do). Great way to p-ss off your evengelists, software providers and supporters.

errrrr. Jobs has said that wozniak was the first person he ever met who knew more about electronics than him. Yeah. But they built apple together. It has always been jobs and Wozniak. SJ isn't just his p.r. Make no mistake about it... Jobs is a hacker. One of the originals since the beginning of hacking.

yeah thats sounds like something the co-founder of apple would say. Hes has a blackberry running the latest version of windows mobile because his own product isnt good enough for him. Im sure he was listlening to his "zune" while he said that too.

Well...I think Apple will not completely lock the phone, but if they do the new Nokia iPhone clone running Symbian OS (and probably will sell unlocked on the internet) will slowly replace the iPhone. People will be pushed away from the completely locked iPhone with no apps on it. I love my iPhone as it is and I cant imagine it without all those applications and small games I have on it.
Im simply not going to update it, period !

I think it was just a phrase for AT&T, which APPLE has a long-term contract with. There is no reason for Apple to lock those phones "forever" as who's gonna buy them??? Poor AT&T customers? Steve knows how many sales he got after unlock has been released. And he knows that sales were not even close to predicted before that happened. And more, even if that will happen, there is nothing you can stop good guys to brake bad guys things

Do we know when they start shipping the phones with the new firmware?

I want to buy several phones before the new firmware, just in case it takes a while for the DEV team to crack it.

Any ideas when is the due date?
