Default iPhone Firmware 1.1.1 Unlock SOLUTION

Check this out, I was talking to a T-mobile Rep and i asked him when the t-mobile iphones are coming out and he said he didn't know and that he really wanted one badly to use on t-mobile. Then I asked him if T-mobile ever got those unlock codes for the iphones and he says YES! he told me to give him the IMEI and the Unlock dept. would send the code within 2-3 business days. unfortunately I don't own an iPhone anymore, So hope you guys try it out and post your results. should also work for the new 1.1.1 firmware since it is a imei generated code. GoodLuck!

wouldn't help that much you still have to get past activation, which is difficult without a att account

BS.... T-Mobile don't sell the iPhone (and it will not sell it at least for the next 5 years) so they can't unlock the iPhone, every brand use different codes

I'm not sure where you're living but unless you're living in Germany and maybe a few other european countries, you can't get an iPhone from T-Mobile.

T-Mobile introduces the iPhone on Nov 9th in Germany and maybe, probably next year, in a few other European countries (Hungary? Austria? etc.).

The iPhone will be solely distributed by T-Mobile with a valid subscription, you can't buy the iPhone in Germany from T-Mobile or even from Apple without a subscription, at least this is how the latest news are.

So if a T-Mobile rep (or just a dumb T-Mobile subscription jackass in a Mall or wherever) really told you what you say (still have my doubts), he was full of crap.

    OK? Fine.

What he is trying to say is that Tmo will give out unlock codes for other phones if you wanted to use that phone with Tmo. But there is no way they will ever get the code from APPLE or ATT for the iPhone.

Thats True !!! here in the UK all carrier can give you unlocking code if the phone is taken from them on contract, T-mobile UK gave me unlocking code for Black Perl just after 3 months, you account should be in good standing.
