hi,
I was updating a virgin OTB 1.1.1 and was trying to reboot the first time when i accidentlly pressed a key, due to which without rebooting the files copied ie 2nd phase of the Carnaval was carried out. Now the problem is that I cant even start the phone. It is stoned, bricked with a an apple logo. That's it. Please help.

did you try a restore on itunes?

what your iphone has is normal... check if iTunes recognizes it without any problem, if it does, do a normal restore, jailbreak and activate again and u r ready to go...

If it turns on and just stays at the apple logo, you should still be able to pull off a DFU restore, which, while itunes is open, is to turn it on and then hold home+power till the screen goes black then release power while holding down home till itunes recognizes it for restore (like 10-20secs). If it doesn't work the first time, keep trying. I had to try 3 or 4 times before I got it to work when I bricked my 1.1.1

thanks !! i'll keep trying it ..... i hope i'm able to pull off the DFU thing .... any special requirements ? I have Itune 7.4, Iphone version is 1.1.1.

Dosent seme to be working .... Itunes starts t download 152 Mbs, after it finishes it read s UNKNOWN ERROR No(48)

Try this

1. Download this file http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....a_Restore.ipsw

2. While docking, press the power and home button for exactly 10 seconds then dont press the power while keep pressing the home button, until itunes recognise this.

3. then press shift + restore button (on itunes) then select the file that you downloaded before.

Let me know if this works.

My Iphone is back to stage 1 !! You have no idea how relieved I am ... thank you sooo much. Now how do i get about to activating, jailbreaking and unlocking the Iphone so that I may be able to use a different SIM card in it ( i'm in india.)

I wanted to know if i can use GPRS ? Or is it only through Wi-fi that i can access the web ? Any inputs ?
Also a good file system for the Iphone, so that i may copy files from the computher to the Ihpone and use them as ringtones , wallpapers etc ... you know ... good stuff....
