i am in ireland and have an iphone with 1.1.1 jailbroken, and sim unlocked with simFree. Is it possible for me to upgrade to firmware 1.1.3 and keep my phone jailbroken and sim unlocked to work with the irish phone nework?

Yes there is a thread about it. I believe if you search for 1.1.3 unlocked IPSF you should find it.
