I was really thinking about it.....

So I can get a virgin 1.0.2 (or a virgin 1.1.1 downgraded to 1.0.2 but not unlocked/patched) unlock it using anySIM1.1, upgrade using iNdenpence 1.2.3 and unlock it again using anySIM1.1? Really works?

May you pls post a step-by-step instructions?

I got a brand new 1.1.1 sealed in box iPhone (modem firmware 04.01.13_G) and downgraded it to 1.0.2 (modem firmware still now 04.01.13_G) with itunes, then activated & jailbroke with the latest iNdependance, then ran AnySim 1.1 which successfully unlocked it! (thanks lads!!:-D)

My Question:
Will i brick my phone if i restore/upgrade to 1.1.1 with itunes?
(and then again use independance and anysim to re-unlock)

am i safe to do it as is stated in fowwiee's post???

im just worried about bricking my phone but i want to do basicly what was done above so i should be fine right??

AFAIK it's safe to upgrade, not sure about restore...

ok i just updated the firmware from 1.0.2 unlocked under amysim1.1 to 1.1.1 using the iNdepandance method and itunes,then i hit activate in iNdapendance which activated and jailbroke 1.1.1 again

heres the weird part-i put in my sim(meteor ireland) so i could run anysim1.1 again but it was still unlocked!!!!!

i updated from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 and it didnt remove the sim unlock!!

im very impressed!!!!!

I would also like a guide for Windows on how to unlock a out of the box 1.0.2 iPhone and update it to 1.1.1 as the iPhone i will be getting tomorrow or monday probably will be a 1.0.2.....

I have a 1.1.1 downgraded to 1.0.2 and unlocked with anySIM 1.1. Modem firmware is still 04.01.13_G. How can I upgrade? Just using iTunes upgrade and then using iNdapendance? May you pls guide me on this? Then I can find a Mac to do the job as at Windows its no so simple....

to upgrade i used iNdepandance FIRST, it has a pre 1.1.1 upgrade process that it runs and THEN it asks you to run the itunes upgrade. this step in iNdepandance is vital before the upgrade to 1.1.1 in itunes (from what i am led to believe)

There are detailed instructions in the iNdapendance help menu for the whole upgrade.

i followed the instrustions from iNdependance to upgrade, then activated and jailbroke again, put in my sim an my phone was still unlocked from my unlock with when i was 1.0.2??it might be necessary to run anysim1.1 again for you but it was not in my case.

basicly 1 - use iNdapendance pre 1.1.1 process. 2 - iTunes upgrade. 3 - iNdapendance activate. (4-anysim1.1 unlock if necessary again)

im not an expert, thats just how it worked out for me but i hope it helps you! :-)
