Invalid iPhone O2 SIM after 1.1.3 Upgrade
For reasons I would rather not go into, mainly relating to my own impatience my UK 1.1.2 OTB jailbroken iphone was updated to 1.1.3. The phone was still locked but that was fine as I had an O2 SIM for the phone on a non iphone contract.
After following the downgrade of 1.1.3 FW steps I am now back to 1.1.2 but I am still left with "Invalid iphone SIM" messages now on my iphone. I understand that I still have the new baseband, hence the reason for my new problems...
I would like to know the following if possible:
- When the JailBreak for 1.1.3 is eventually released will it address my specific issue regarding O2 SIM activation, or, will I need to wait for someone to write a specific 'hack' to get around this problem. The iphone seems to do a lookup to the carrier to see if my SIM is valid and then disables the phone functionality
-Or, will I have to wait for a unlock that I previously did not need when my phone was 1.1.2?
- Or maybe my iphone will really be a permament brick unless I upgrade to an iphone contract.
I assume that others with Jailbroken 1.1.2 phones currently using O2 SIMs or maybe also AT&T will also face this issue when they upgrade to 1.1.3 when the Jailbreak is released?
Thanks in advance for any information and advice!!

even if you unlock 1.1.3, its gonna give incorrect sim error to all sims except official sim

I've got the same problem as you. But i 'restored' my iphone after i isntalled the 1.1.3 FW to get rid of some apps that wouldnt uninstall on my phone. It was probably a stupid thing to do lol. When i saw the activate your iphone screen i went through one of trunkz guide to jailbreak and activate the phone again and I still said invalid sim. Is there any way to fix this at the moment???
Thanks rapidsd for posting this, i was getting a little lost with it all so im glad i found someone in the same situation.
Keep updating this thread to let me know if you sort it.
