Smile An interesting phone conversation with iPhone technical support...

Let me tell you a story which is funny and interesting as well...

Today, I have called iPhone technical support and told them I live in Turkey and I have an iPhone brought to me by a friend as a gift. "Unfortunately there are no carriers in Turkey contracted with Apple and supporting iPhone!" I told, and asked them if they can offer me any way of an unlock to make my phone useable in Turkey.

Guess what the technical support guy told me! He said "Unfortunately we cannot offer you any official unlock method but if you go and search internet you can find several programs that can unlock your iPhone but do not forget that we do not recommend it."

Isn't that funny? What the hell are they trying to do? They update the bootloader and avoid us from unlocking our phones but they guide us to the internet to search and find unlocking programs!

Perhaps the guy was just a human being who knows how awesome the freakin' phone is and how sad it is if it is lying next to you and you can't use it...

That was weird. But I guess the support guy was just trying to be a nice fellow to you. Unlocking is not illegal or anything, so he probably acted on the iPhone's customer (you) best interest.

    LOL, maybe!...

And maybe if I have told him that mine was a bootloader 4.6, he would even have offered me an official unlock..
