iNdependence update to 1.1.1 with iTunes already serving 1.1.2
Have unlocked several stock 1.1.1 phones with iNdependence (Mac). Procedure is:- Enter DFU mode in iNdependence
- Restore down to 1.0.2 in iTunes
- Activate, install SSH, prep for 1.1.1 update in iNdependence
- Update to 1.1.1 in iTunes
- Activate, install SSH in iNdependence
- Install anySIM 1.1, run, done.
Today, iTunes started serving 1.1.2 during step 4. which screws up the process. I tried Opt-click Restore instead of Update and apply the 1.1.1 update that way, but that doesn't work. Going back to iNdependence in step 5. tells me I need to start over downgrading to 1.0.2.
What to do? I don't want or need 1.1.2, I'm perfectly happy running 1.1.1, but iTunes Update doesn't give me 1.1.1 anymore. Could I run anySIM 1.1 in FW1.0.2, then Restore to FW1.1.1, then jailbreakme.com? Any other way? I'd prefer doing it from the computer...

This is interesting situation, would like to hear the options currently available to complete the upgrade to 1.1.1 as well.

Is it really so hard to use a "???" in a topic?

Use Opt-Click UPDATE, not restore. Works for me.
Also, why wouldn't you use jailbreakme.com? It's like three times faster!
