Default [Independence] - Couldn't extract firmware file contents ?

So I was in the middle of an independence activiation and unlock where int he middle of the firmware download I had a Kernel Panic and had to restart? Now everytime I try to re-activate via iNdependece I get an error saying "Couldn't extract firmware file contents"

Anyone had this and how do I get around it? Google seems to only show 2 occurences of this with no responses. I've tried upgrading and restoring my iphone to no avail.

I'm having the exact same problem.. 1.1.3 04.03.13_G - Just got the phone today from apple (replaced from repair).. "couldn't extract firmware file contents"

The activation and Jailbreak worked, the sim unlock won't..

    Suggestions?

Right. This is actually a simple problem to fix (if it is the same one i came across).

I am guessing that you have never used iTunes to update your iPhone, this is where the problem lies. As iTunes hasn't created a folder that iNdependence uses.

So what you need to do is create a folder called: iPhone Software Updates

This folder should be located in your Users/(Insert user name here)/Library/iTunes

To help iNdependence a bit if you have already download the 1.1.2 restore package, put it in this folder.

    This should fix your problem.

    Nick
