Default [iLiberty+] Should I restore to original FW and try it again ?

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum and iphones for that matter, and I appreciate any help from you guys. Anyways, I recently used iLiberty+ to unlock/jb/activate/downgrade to 3.9FB/youtube fix my iphone on 1.1.4 fw. I think I had 4.6BL, cause the 4th and 5th digits of my Serial # were 5 and 0. Anyways, after using iLiberty, my youtube doesnt work. I've tried using iLiberty to do the youtube fix again but still no luck. I tried downloading the 1.1.4 tweak fix for youtube through installer, but again, no luck. So i'm thinking I would try restoring to original firmware, then trying iLiberty again using volksposts method recently posted. Good idea or bad idea?

And would i have to use bootneuter to restore my 4.6BL or just leave it as it is and restore using itunes?

Or even better, anybody have an idea how to fix youtube?

    Thanks a bunch guys.

After installing Youtube Activator 1.1.4, shut down the phone and restart again. Also, set proper date and time for youtube to work. If all else fails reset all settings

Alright, I tried resetting the phone, and resetting all settings. Still not working, get the "cannot connect to YouTube" message.

Has anyone here heard of anyone just trying a restore and reinstall working?

OK - That's the reason. That's why it is so crucial for you to give us all information in the beginning.... The reason why it is not working because when you used iLiberty+ to jailbreak the phone, you had activation checked. That process put in a hacked activation file therefore would not work for AT&T sub.

Restore your phone to 1.1.4 again and use itunes to activate it (like when you first got your phone).

When it is done, you should be able to use the phone to make calls and use youtube.

Now to jailbreak, you use iLiberty+ to check the jailbreak and the installer payload and click go for it. That's it.

You need to start all over again.

Ok, thanks, i kinda figured i was going to need to do something along the lines of that. So back to my original post, to restore it to original 1.1.4 firmware, is it as easy as plugging my phone into itunes and hitting restore? Or do i need to make any changes to the bootloader (since i checked the box to downgrade to 3.9FB)?

Sorry for not saying I use AT&T, i didn't know it was pertinent. Still a rookie.

    Thanks.

Yes you can restore like that, it's that simple. Just make sure you activate it via itunes and check that everything is working then you can move on to jailbreak it.

Regarding bootloader, you don't need to worry about that. A restore will not touch the bootloader part.
