Default If I buy an iPhone with 1.1.1 - downgrading to 1.0.2 will cause problems later?

    Hi!

I'm just two seconds away buying an iPhone here in USA... but I've one question for you!

I think that the iPhone I'm going to buy will carry the 1.1.1 update "out-from-the-box". Since there are no knows solutions to unlock the baseband part to be able to call, I'm planning to just use it as an iPod with Wi-Fi (just like the iPod Touch). But I'm pretty sure that some hackers will come ut with a solution to fix the baseband part too sooner or later.

But the question is: If I now buy an 1.1.1 iPhone, downgrade the firmwire to 1.0.2, then hack it with anySIM (or lets say iUnlock, whatever), and use it as an iPod Touch. If it, lets say 2-3 weeks from now, someone has figured out how to hack the phonepart in 1.1.1, will I then get the opportunity to restore the iPhone to its original firmwire (1.1.1)? Will this operation be easy, or will I get stuck with many problems since I downgraded to 1.0.2? Or will everything I did to downgrade the phone be deleted?

If I after downgrading to 1.0.2 restore the iPhone back to its original status, which will be 1.1.1, will there be any traces of the hack? Would the phone has any status after restoring to 1.1.1 that is was hacked under the 1.0.2 firmwire?

Since the Apple Warranty gets broken when hacking the phone, would restoring back to 1.1.1 remove any traces of the hack? Will the warranty be accepted?

What I actually HOPE for is this: If I restore the iPhone in iTunes back to 1.1.1, will my iPhone then look EXACTLY as it looked when I bought it? Will there be any difference from the iPhone I buy today out of the box, and the iPhone after restoring to 1.1.1 after 1.0.2 downgrade?

I have a 1.1.1 out of the box phone.

I downgraded it when I saw the posts here stating that the baseband could also be reversed.

When it became obvious that that was unreliable I took it back to 1.1.1 with no problems

It's now activated on AT&T waiting for the Dev Team

I haven't seen any confirmation on that yet! someone said it works but they didn't say they did it!

Also in the vein of this thread:

I have an iPhone on the way. By when it was bought it _should_ be 1.0.2 (fingers crossed)

If so, which method of unlocking is least likely to cause problems down the track?

Or don't we know enough yet to predict this?
