Idiotic mate driving me nuts!!
Hi there. Thanx to the iPhone Dev Team for really freeing my iphone. I live in Ghana and i suspect i probably had the first working iPhone down here.
I did an unlock for a mate of mine a month ago. He had a 1.1.1 iphone with serial 7T740******. In spite of clear and repeated warnings never to do the 1.1.2 update, the bugger went ahead and did it. Now he cam back whining about how his iphone wasnt working.
Anyways, i was wondering:
1: Do i need to do a revirginise and/or a baseband restore?
2: or can i just do a downgrade, jailbreak and run oktoprep, then upgrade back to 1.1.2 and rund anysim?
Please let me know what the best course of action is.

You should remove part of the serial number when posting in a public forum.

Thanks for the info.
However, i did a restore to 1.1.1 in order to rejailbreak the iphone and now, after i select the wifi network and go to jailbreakme.com, the iphone refuses to finish loading the site up. When i reboot the iphone, it cannot detect any wifi networks.
Any help with that?

Do i need to unlock again? or should i just run oktoprep and then upgrade to 1.1.2?

is your baseband corrupt? unknown wifi, BT MAC addresses? you can even downgrade to 1.0.2->oktoprep(or manul method on my blog)->UPDATE to 1.1.2->unlock with anysim 1.2.1u, if you are having problems with 1.1.1 jailbreak, wifi
iPhone 4 (ios 4.1, simfree, jailbroken)

Status Update: i finally got a stable wifi connection, installed the baseband restore from i.unlock.no and it worked like a charm. Back on track! Thanks for the gr8 advice
