I use a 1.1.2 OOB with Turbo Sim. I read, that AppleSaft doesn't work with 1.1.3 BaseBand 04_03_12 and that the developers need the jailbreak for 1.1.3 to update appleSaft.

Why can't we update the baseband by updating to 1.1.3 and then downgrade to 1.1.2 und jailbreak the Phone. Then we should be able to build and test a newer version of AppleSaft.

We shouldnt need jailbreaking to update applesaft!

It is important only to use some sort of logging application (iirc this exists for the tsim), and insert a tsim onto a 113 phone.

Then, this tsim must be removed, with the data collected, and read on another phone or tsim programmer, to see what patter the checks have now... with this it would be possible to try different combinations to fool the iphone.

But we had to install apfelsaft...and I think this just works on jailbreaked iPhones, am I wrong here?

yes, to install applesaft (or any other tsim application) from an iphone you need to have it jailbreaked...

but, you can also install the apps by installing the tsim on other phones, like a v3 or nokia 6230 iirc... some of them require you to have a cable to connect to the PC, on the v3 and 6230 i think you can do it via BT also...

are you sure, that the TurboSIM Apps HAVE to be saved on the iPhone for a succesfully usage? I thought, it would be enough, that once you have programmed the TSim, it looks like the AT&T card and the iphone doesnt need to become modified again?

What would happen, if I restore and jailbreak my BL 4.6 iPhone? Would I have put the TurboSIM files to my iPhone again? Wouldn't it be alright if i put my programmed TSIM into my iphone?

I was also thinking about that... I got the TSIM but it arrived before... My Iphone.
Had to be here this week but probably will arrive next. It's a shame not being able to upgrade to 1.1.3 because of the unlock and TSIM prob. I think I won't try to upgrade to test the TSIM logging thing... Thinking about getting a second on which I might do some testing.

I could try to code the thing if somebody on 1.1.3 is willing to test, posting the binary here, somebody programming his TS with another phonem etc.
Once the log is ready, we could post it and let people give it a look and see if some kind of new test pattern comes out.

but the one who does this needs to have a real iPhone AT&T Plan (and know how)... Perhaps the DEV Team could set up one donated iPhone with TS and run the logging app
