iClarified - How to Unlock a 1.1.2 Upgraded iPhone Using Windows
Hi,
I got a lot of feedback on my tutorial to unlock an upgraded 1.1.2 iPhone. Thanks.
The most requested thing was a tutorial to unlock 1.1.1 iPhones or 1.1.2 iPhones on windows. Kinda surprised me but I guess iPhone appeals to everyone.
I wrote a tutorial using Windows. It is very long but should cover every step you need to take. Please let me know if any corrections need to be made as I don't really use windows anymore.

Good luck!

very nice instruction.
After oktoprep and then you proceed to update 1.1.2.
when the update is completed, your phone will reboot and you will be at the disc+cable screen (like the DFU screen). Did you see this ??
Anyway, at this point just run the windows.bat and let the java app does it things. You will see a DOS windows showing the activity. When done, the phone will reboot and jailbroken/activated. Did you see this one as well ?
And lastly, near the end of your instruction. What is the purpose of ipetools ??
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your comments, really appreciate it. I believe you are referring to the new multilingual emergency slider. I just updated the tutorial to reflect this!
Here is the reason the I was given at iphone-elite for the requirement of ipetools:
The patch that has been developed to modify the Verification Process so that it never enables brick mode, and all references to Unactivated, MissingSIM, MismatchedICCID, and MismatchedIMEI have been changed to FactoryActivated. This allows people who have valid Account Tokens to use the iPhone in the state that they have activated, allows people who receive unlock codes from Apple to apply them without reinstalling lockdownd.
In addition, parts of Apple's security logic have been circumvented. All parts of lockdownd that attempt to void the iPhone's warranty have been removed. Also, lockdownd has been modified to allow all baseband versions without bricking the phone. This allows experimentation with different modem firmwares without having to modify lockdownd.
Pretty much applying ipetools just prevents the future screwing up and warranty voiding of your iPhone.

so does this work for 1.1.2 uk iphone with the new bootloader 4.6?

nope, new bootloader hasn't been cracked yet. ill probably make a tutorial when that does happen though.
this tutorial lets you run 1.1.2 if when you bought your phone it came with 1.1.1.
