Default I lost my AT&T Sim card, Am I F****d?

so I can't find it, is there a way to get a new one from apple w/o sending off any "hello, I'm not an at&t subscriber and am using this for t-mobile" flags?

Why do you even need it?

    Hi,

I guess you're looking for it, because some of the unlock tutorials say "insert your original AT&T simcard" before you unlock.

Don't be scared by that - you can use any SIM card to follow the tutorials.
But: Make sure to erase the PIN first (this means: set the PIN to nothing, so when you power down your phone and turn it back on, it shouldn't ask for a PIN code to procede).

Put your provider SIM into any other (non-i)Phone and get rid off the PIN.
Then you should be good to go.

    hi bergheim.
what if the SIM pin cannot be deactivated? That's the case of my German Vodafone SIM. The pin code can only be deactivated by Vodafone itself...
I'm asking just in case I find myself in the same situation of the guy who lost his at&t card.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

it seems that the old (non-red) Vodafone SIM cards can actually not be operated without a SIM PIN - you might want to go to the nearest Vodafone shop and ask them for a new SIM (tell them you don't want to use the SIM PIN or something). Or maybe ask someone for an expired T-D1 SIM ;-)

Buy a cheap prepay phone like Motorola C121 for 10 Euro in Media Markt or Saturn on this Vodafone cards, Pin can be disabled. ;-)

I'm dumb. For some reason or another I thought my upgrade to 1.1.1 wasn't working because I needed the at&t sim. It must be something else. Thanks for the quick resolve though, I can breathe a little easier now.

so I found my AT&T Sim card, any guesses to where it was?

IN MY DAMN SIM TRAY HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

one can only laugh at circumstances such as this, and I tore apart my whole house looking for it too.

what happened was my parents grounded me and took my t-mobile sim card, and I guess I just forgot I put the AT&T one back in it. I thought It was just an empty tray oh, well I hope a few of you got a nice laugh out of this one, now to fix my IMEI.....

    (end noob moment)
