Have a virgin 1.01 to jailbreak. Which firmware should I go with?
Hey guys. I have someone's 1.01 iPhone here. He wants me to jailbreak it and install apps. NO unlock. Should I install 1.1.1 or is it safe to update to 1.1.2 in iTunes? I see there's a 1.1.2 jailbreak method but I want to be sure.
I'm on OSX with iTunes 7.5. I also have a PC without iTunes installed.
Thanks!

Aren't most 3rd party apps (including Installer.app) made for 1.1.1 now? I have 1.1.1 on my phone jailbreak/unlocked and everything works great, so I'd like to install 1.1.1 for him, especially since he has AT&T and doesn't need an unlock.
I was just wondering if it's safe to update to 1.1.2 in iTunes 7.5 and jailbreak it from there. Should all the apps work fine? I haven't updated my phone to 1.1.2, so I haven't a clue about it.

go with 1.1.1, most apps are out for it and it's the most stable, since you're only jailbreaking you can always update at anytime worry free, because you're not touching the baseband

1.1.2 is more stable than 1.1.1, no question. Faster, less app crashing.
Not sure why people are avoiding anySIM 1.2.1u. Dev team has stated (to paraphrase) "we have a 1.1.2 unlock but since one is already out that works we're not bothering to release it".
1.1.2 is the current and best and 1.2.1u works fine.
So says my 1.1.2 phone.
