what about CARNAVAL? Connect it, run it and cancel CARNAVAL when saying "Exiting from restore mode".

Downgrade to 1.02 by keeping the Home & Power button pressed down. Ull get into recover mode, downgrade to 1.02. then. i used ibrickr to kick 1.02 out of restore mode. then, (iF you got 1.12 basband, virginize, then restore to 1.02 again, then restore to 1.1.1 after the 2nd time u restored to 1.02. After, do the #307* thing to the jailbreakme.com site.

if i click on 'Virginise' in the Democracy 2.0, i get a 'dont use THIS revirginiser if you have 1.1.2 OOTB version... - i have downgraded to 1.0.2 but it was originally a 1.1.2 when i bought it... do i still use this virginiser safely?

i have exactly the same problem than you, the only thing i was able tol do is run iphuc and run the following commands:
cmd setenv auto-boot true
cmd saveenv
cmd fsboot
it will get you out of restore mode, but dont power off the phone it will go back to restore mode... i am still stuck there

i got stuck at the iNdependance part as well. I just exited itunes, opened activity monitor, kill the ituneshelper process. Then unplug then plug in your ipod then run independance, if that didnt work then leave independance on and plug in your iphone or try starting up itunes.
Btw what version of itunes and independance you using ?
