    itunes version 7.4.2

independence v 2.1.5 (the newer version i cant get working)!

already had my iphone working on 1.1.1 but reset it back to 1.1.2 awaiting a 'one-touch' unlock method (which hasnt come)

So from 1.1.2 i have downgrade to 1.0.2 and jailbreak etc.. then upgraded (not restored) to 1.1.1 and then got stuck in Restore mode

if its a UK iPhone with 1.1.2 pre installed then i did it with the beta version of independance and itunes 7.5

also you may want to note there is no need to downgrade to 1.0.2 you only need to downgrade to 1.1.1 ( for 1.1.2 OTB iphones)

use the windows installation file for installer app. Choose firmware 1.0.2 and proceed with the installation let it do it's stuff and as soon you are kicked out from recovery mode disconnect the cable. You don't want what comes next after that.

    Right... finally got somewhere..

iBrickr worked... have now got iphone up and running with 1.0.2 and my 02 contract sim.

If i remove sim i then have to re-activate phone... Is there a way of doing this from within the iphone?

my mistake, as long as its the same sim that is replaced then it doesnt need re-activating!

    i had the same problem.
my fault was the anysim file.
i have unlock the phone with anysim that calls "anysim1.2"
after i rename it just to "anysim" i came out of this f**k*** recovery modus after UPDATE to 1.1.1

but now in 1.1.1 the unlock doesnt works. in 1.0.2 anysim1.2.1u works fine.

    any idea?

i had the same issue while trying to upgrade back to 1.1.2 after unlocking the firmware.....the solution that seemed to work for me was just opening and closing independence 1.3beta a bunch of times and eventually it kicked it out of recovery mode.

opening and closing independence didn't work for me... eventually I tried to restore for a second time in a row to 1.1.1, got the 1015 error and went back into recovery mode. But this time, Independence worked flawlessly and got it out of recovery mode and I was able to complete the upgrade to 1.1.2. Now, I have a fully functional unlocked 1.1.2 phone... lots of grief this afternoon. Took many hours mainly because of this step. I must have restored back to 1.0.2 at least 3 times.
