I know some ppl have had success with this guide but I'm having a problem with anySIM. When I run it (from the terminal window on the iPhone so I can see the exit status code) it goes through its steps, reaches "Copying firmware...Please wait" and when the progress bar is at 100% a message flashes quickly (too quick to read) and anySIM exits. At the shell prompt I can see:
No such process
zsh: bus error ./anySIM
Now I've followed this process *to the letter*, multiple times and even tried two different iPhones and the result is always the same. I'm using the files posted in the links at the start of this thread, starting with a 1.1.1 iPhone with 4.1.13G baseband and 3.9 bootloader, restore to 1.1.2, restore to 1.1.1 (error 1015), iPhuc, jailbreak, install BSD SS+OpenSSH+Term (as my WiFi always drops during reflashing), AnySIM 1.2.1u to /Applications with 755 perms on all files and run anySIM then bang, bus error.
At that point I'm on 1.1.1 with bbupdater reporting:
# ./bbupdater -v
pinging the baseband...

# sum anySIM
I've downloaded anySIM multimple times and transfered it to the iPhone in binary mode so I doubt it's corrupt.
The phone has been flashed up to 1.1.2 and down to 1.1.1 so many times I've lost count including returning the baseband to 3.14.08G and restoring to 1.1.1 to end up with a pristine 4.1.13g baseband and starting the process from there several times always with anySIM crashing.
I've now returned one of the iPhones to 1.1.1 with baseband 4.1.13g and it's unlocked and fully functional and I'm tearing my non existent hair out wether I should try and continue to upgrade to 1.1.2 on my spare iPhone or just give up as I've spent a day and a half on this.
Any ideas pretty please?
Also, you should be executing the renamed AnySim.app, not the file that's within it.. realizing that AnySim.app is a directory but is being seen as an application by the iPhone.
Hope this helps.. let us know!

You're absolutely right, the folder MUST be called anySIM.app or else! <sigh>
I was able to select a wifi connection. But then after I turned it off and on again, it still says no server found when I clicked on the jailbreakme.com link.
I got anysim on my phone but it won't work. The app opens up but the slider is frozen. If I tap my home button it takes me back to the springboard.
Edit - Wait a sec, I just went thru and CHMODed all the files to 0755, lets see what that does.

Hopefully this helps!
Everythings works great! Just finished the last step of the guide and I now have 1.1.2 and the new baseband on my unlocked phone. You can add another official success to this guide. Kudos to you.
[QUOTE=iPhoneWriter;126606]Once you are on the Wi-Fi, can you get to other web sites.. like yahoo.com or something? The jailbreakme.com web site is up, I just checked, so make sure you are connecting to a Wi-Fi, pulling an IP address (*not* a default 169.xx... IP address) and able to access other sites on the Internet.. if "yes" to all of these, then you should be able to access the jailbreakme.com website.... unless, the provider of your IP address (Wi-Fi) is somehow blocking the site.
The wifi is in my home and not blocking anything. The problem is when the phone is turned back on the wifi connection indicator is gone, as if the phone does not remember the connection anymore.
EDIT: I was able to go to jailbreakme.com!
UPDATE: Everything is working, except YouTube! Shall I apply PAYCAY again?
