I have an iPhone in transit that i purchased a week or so ago.

I am planning to use the following tutorial to unlock the phone given i have an iMac :

How can i make sure of the following :

1) What version of the firmware i have on the phone ?
2) How do i make sure i stay at v1.0.2 when i plug the phone into the computer ?
3) I have iTunes v7.4.1 currently......should i stay on this version from now on and not upgrade to v7.4.2 ??

I would like to know about that 7.4.1. iTunes too.. cause I've recently updated to 7.4.2. and my iPhone is shipping to me atm .. hope I don't need 7.4.1
