jinning, i have same problem. looking for the answer for a week now !!! could not find anything. I have 1.0.2. got it from a shop which bought a batch of unlocked phones from some guy. nobody knows which method was used to unlock it. I am surprised that ppl have developed ingenious ways to unlock iphone but don't have a way to check which unlock method was used in past! very strange.

I am with a guy on irc. looks like he might help. I will share the info with you if I find anything. Let me know if you get any solution at your end. Thanks.

ok that irc guy is telling me to revirginize it using http://web.mac.com/netao/ModYouriPho..._bbReload.html

there is a download link over there for bbreload.zip

it will reflash baseband and virginize the 1.0.2 phone.

element, thanks for this useful information. I installed the BSD Subsystem, openssh. Downloaded the minicom which was the part of a downgrade package. Now I am connected to my iphone using winscp. Here i got stuck. I don't know how to use minicom. If i copy it to iphone then how will i run it? help will really be appreciated. I am stuck only at the last part, rest is done.

    Thanks.

Okay, I am gonna try to explain...
first, it would be better if you connected to your iPhone via PuTTY... It's like terminal, just to type commands...link: http://rapid$hare.com/files/68392835/putty.exe.html (just change $ to s) To connect with putty is very similar to winscp
First you gotta stop commcenter, type launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
Right, then you should type ''minicom'' (without '')
    *If you get:
minicom: WARNING: configuration file not found, using defaults
minicom: cannot open /dev/modem: No such file or directory
    Then type minicom -s
Go to Serial Port Setup and change Serial device to /dev/tty.baseband
then you should see that minicom is already running
    now type: AT+xsimstate=1
If it appears: +XLOCK: "PN",4,0,"PU",5,0,"PP",5,0,"PC",5,0,"PS",5,0 it was unlocked via anySIM1.0.2,iUnlock, unlock.app or hardware unlock
if appears: +XLOCK: "PN",1,0,"PU",5,0,"PP",5,0,"PC",5,0,"PS",5,0 it was unlocked via anySIM1.1
and, if you see: +XLOCK: "PN",5,0,"PU",5,0,"PP",5,0,"PC",5,0,"PS",5,0 it was unlocked with IPSF
Dont you forget to start minicom after you do that, to start it, type: launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
Hope I was helpful... and sorry if I wrote some wrong info !

*if you dont get that error, just type the command without doing anything more.

    DONE!!!

I was not successfull in getting the minicom properly. It always hanged both from winscp terminal and iphone terminal sooooo I went ahead anyway and followed this http://iphone.ranova.org/index.shtml guide. Guess what, I am running 1.1.1 on my phone now with jailbreak, unlock, activation and all other goodies!

all process went without any hitch.

Thanks to all those who put their effort in revirginize, jailbreak, unlock guides.

    Thanks for all the answers.
It seems that revirginize is the only solution if I want to update iPhone to higher firmware.
Any new findings will be post here.
    Thanks again.
