Discuss How to find out how my iPhone has been unlocked? at the iPhone "2G" (Rev. 1) - Hackint0sh.org; Try to use putty.....
There are simpler ways to do it now. Still requires BSD and OpenSSH on the iPhone.
Place the "sendmodem" executable on the phone's root / directory using your favorite SCP or SFTP client.
Open a shell on the phone (using your favorite SSH client) and issue:
chmod +x sendmodem
This will display the lock state like:
he result will be something like:
+XLOCK: "PN",X1,X2,"PU",X1,X2,"PP",X1,X2,"PC",X1,X2,"P S",X 1,X2
The only lock that matters is the PN
PN=1,0 is locked (virgin) phone or AnySim 1.1 << SAFE
PN=5,0 is IPSF "unlocked" << NOT RESTORABLE
PN=4,0 is iUnlock and siblings (unlocker and AnySim 1.0.x) << RESTORABLE
Hope this helps
