Default How do you find out if you have updated baseband?

How can I find out on my iphone if my baseband has been updated to the one that renders the phone useless for now?
I'm getting the Incorrect SIM message that says I need an approved SIM
I've restored back to 1.0.2 and did everything all over again using Unlock but get the same message.
on my iphone it says my version is 1.0.2(1C28), and firmware 04.01.13_G
my IMEI number does not contain that 004.. sequence with or without the SIM card im trying to use. not sure what the significance of this sequence is but from what ive read i think it tells you something about if your phone is done right.
If you need anymore info please let me know so I can get this sucker working! thanks!

you updated to 1.1.1 you cannot unlock a downgraded phone. You will have to use the phone as a ipod untill a new unlock comes out for 1.1.1
