Default How can I tell how it was unlocked

Dears, bought my iphone of the net, and was wondering how I can tell how they (the company I bought it from) unlocked it... as this may be important for the baseband upgrade in the future (I know AnySim Iunlock does nastie things thats why I am asking)

Is there any way for me to find out hOW they did it... or in the case of a restoer 1.02 ->1.02 which method I should and should not use..

    Thanks in advance

This is a strange question. You could...

    A. Ask the company you have bought it from
    B. Try your (non at&t) sim card in it and see if it works

    A) the company does not know... tried that

    b) I can use my non att sim... in dubai... and it works..

I want to know HOW I can identify the method used, as even if i only restore it.... I still have to use the same procedure as was used by the company who cant tell me how it was done in the first place, or ill run into trouble...

    any other bright Ideas....

Not so strange. I am in a similar position because I bought IPSF unlock. However just before they shipped it to me the free unlock arrived. I tried that and it failed - however it was actually due to me not having a patched lockdownd file. I then tried the IPSF software which similarly failed. After that I updated the lockdownd file and it started working. However, I am not sure which of the unlock systems I actually used, it depends whether the IPSF actually overwrote the iUnlock one. Can anyone therefore answer me the same question posted above - how do I know which software was used to unlock my phone.

Very simple: execute a NORDump and analyze the dump data. :p I wasn't able to tell the difference and some other knowledgable people didn't find out either but maybe you're more succesful than we are.

I detect a touch of sarcasm there. I assume you are saying I can't.

    Sorry, I misread the question.

You could ask IPSF if they have your IMEI number on record? I also suspect if you downloaded and tried to run the IPSF app it would tell you that your not licensed., otherwise it would try run and tell you that your phone is already unlocked.

I would image if the the IPSF app was not on your phone then the company probably used the free version. I doubt they would pay for an unlock if they could use a free one.
