This is just a quick note to say that I just bought a new E999 iPhone. When I spoke to sales person, I've been told pretty much the same story [w8 4 24hrs]. I have not yet connected my phone to iTunes... and I'm delighted to help you guys out.. Guys, is there anything specific that you want me to do or try? But I am afraid that I have to warn you, .. I'm not too technical so you'll have to speak to me like I'm 4 yearls old.. Anyways, .. if anyone is interested, please let me know.

PS - This will have to be quick because:

1) I'm off to London for a weekend (meaning that I'll be back on Monday)

2) I'm not too sure how much longer I can resist and keep it unboxed..


PPS - Congratulations to dev team on their previous success!

PPPS - If I'm going to f*ck my phone up, .. I'll kill you! Nah, just kidding, .. but seriously, I spent E999 since I cannot foresee new 1.1.2 hack coming up in the near future.


PPPPS - I have not heard the actual conversation but the sales person disappeared for like 20 minutes having my phone on him..

And YES thats the Bushound i meant, use lordbrians link !
I have no idea if Bushound free version can do what may is needed but its worth a shot ! ( I simply dont know in which way it is crippled... ).

Let it recording whatever your USB port is talking to/from your phone before you even plug it and wait for iTunes.

An observation, based upon a very limited understanding of the activation & unlocking, which may be way off the mark.

Logic suggest that Activation & Unlocking of the T-Mobile phones is getting mixed up / confused :

Activation of any phone relies on IMEI, Device ID & ICCD which is then stored on the phone (I think & guess since Apple known the ICCIDs of all supplied SIMs then they can check against a list to prevent another SIM even from the correct network being used - this will need changing on their servers for approved IMEI's which they are going to allow unlocking otherwise activation won't work)
If the Sim card is changed then any checks the phone carries out would provide an error as the ICCID will be wrong so the phone then goes back to Activation required state - this should have nothing to do with being sim unlocked - on a jailbroken / unlocked 1.1.1 phone what happens when the sim is changed ? is re-activation required

Unlocking - I have no idea how this works, but would guess as with other makes of phones it is a one off process based upon a code for the individual IMEI (may be reversible)
