Honest question, no flames please? IPSF or iUnlock?
I know both methods cannot upgrade to 1.1.1 and work to make calls, but after reading around it appears that IPSF may be a 'safer' method as people downgrading from 1.1.1 with an IPSF unlock still keeps its IMEI (and if not they can fix it somehow) thus allowing me warranty service.
I don't know how IPSF is able to do it, a bit fishy really, though I'd rather spend $50 to protect a $350 purchase if it's worth it. I'm not particularly short on cash and will likely also donate $50 to this cause. I need an unlock due to excessive international travel and being able to swap SIMs on the fly is a key issue for me and I'm not that flush with cash to pay ATT for their international plan.
Thanks for any honest opinions. Cheers.

if you still have firmware 1.02 then ipsf is fine if you want. but if you have 1.1.1 nothing will work even after a downgrade, i don't think you can run ipsf app

Anyhow, at this time the ipsf unlock is useless for brand new iphones with FW 1.1.1 The dev team is working hard on a new unlock, and supprting them seems to me the best choice.
If you own an iphone with FW1.0.2 instead, I do not see why you should spend 50 bucks for an unlock software which is available for free here and works great for a few hundred thousands of people, myself included.

alot of people actually have problems with anysim and similar unlocks
alot of service dropout issues, phone not ringing when asleep and such
some of these problems could have to do with the bytes missing in the baseband
ipsf actually changes the eeprom settings, and places a complete version of the baseband back after. This would seem to be the closest to the unlock you would recieve from att.
Im eagerlly awaiting the dev teams version of a eeprom unlock instead of the hacked modem firmware as it might clear up alot of problems and be more resistant to new firmware upgrades.
