Help: Wifi was disabled after unlock using AnySim 1.0.2
I have unlocked my phone using the following.
1. Itune 22.214.171.124 + FW 1.0.2
2. AppTapp v.092
3. PACAY (version not sure)
4. Ibrinkr V0.8
5. AnySim V1.0.2
Phone was unlocked successfully.
Strangely two things are not working.
1. Wifi is disable. Home -> Settings -> Wifi (Cannot select and detect wifi signal, Status "No Wifi")
2. SMS Out failed (Sending Failed)
1. Will FW restore help to reinstate the Wifi?
2. What is a good solutions to solve this problem?
Any help will be appreciated.
your answers can be found by reading the forum, do a search
I have spent a few hours on searching may be I was not that good.
I found the below solutions. But I am not quite sure if I need to do the bbupdater as it touches the Baseband.
Please could you give me more hint on the specific issues. Thanks
I lost wifi - now it just says "No Wi-Fi"
You probably restarted your phone after running ieraser. To restore Wi-Fi you could either do a restore in iTunes and start over again, or the much faster way, reflash only the baseband from a terminal directly from the phone, which i will explain.
You will need the file called "ICE03.14.08_G.fls" (ICE03.12.06_G.fls if you have 1.00 firmware). I will not link to this file because of copyright reasons, but you'll find it in /usr/local/standalone/firmware/ in the ramdisk image (i might explain this later). Using iBrickr or some other application, transfer this file to /usr/bin/. Also, you need to install a terminal application on the phone. Using iBrickr, click Applications → Reload app list → scroll down to you see MobileTerminal xxx and click it.
Launch the Terminal, and run the following commands:
bbupdater -f ICE03.14.08_G.fls
It will take a couple of minutes before it's done. When it's done, restart your phone and enjoy your Wi-Fi. And make sure you don't restart your phone after running ieraser! Thanks to ziel for telling me about this possibility.
Try On Iphone
Click (settings ) Next Click General Next Click Reset
Next Click Reset Next Click (reset Network Settings)
En Them Restar Your Fone End Check If Help
you should first try another sim to see if its your service provider that is stopping you from sending sms.
for the wifi , if a phone reset in settings does not work you really need to do a virgin restore by flashing the baseband with the .fls and .eep files then restart the commcenter restart the phone and reunlock.
1. Upload the following to a directory (I used /unlock):
2. SSH to the iphone (I need to install openSSH using ibrickr 0.8 and used putty as my ssh client) and yes you need wi-fi working.
3. From SSH prompt type the following:
chmod +x bbupdater
launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
./bbupdater -f *.fls -e *.eep
launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
4. Exit putty
7. Reboot phone
8. follow guide below to reunlock your phone
I found all the files from other posts in the forums (yes including the .eep and .fls files)
for the unlock I would suggest this guide as it has less problems
I just tried it. I was not working. Wifi still disable.
Do you think Restore FW and reactivate step will work?
I was able to activate the SMS out on my Iphone.
To set SMSC type *5005*7672*xxxxxxxxxx# then CALL where xxxxxxxxxx is your SMScenter number. (7672=SMSC on keyboard);
for singtel : *5005*7672*+6596400001# then CALL
Singtel SMSC = +65-96400001
I did restored the my phone with FW 1.0.2. And reactivated it using AppTapp + PACAY. The phone is still unlocked.
However the wifi is still not working. I believe my baseband has been corrupted.
Can someone help me that how to enable Wifi without virgin restore the phone? Or my phone wifi function is defective.
Any comments are welcome
