I am new to the forum and have just bought an already unlocked iPhone.It is working fine with my network service provider and also I can use its native applications( Camera,SMS,...) . But the problem is that its firm is old (1.0.0) . I am looking for a way to upgrade my firm to at least 1.1.1
I do not know the exact order of processes to do this. for example:
1- should I virginate it first?
2- should I upgrade first to the 1.0.2 firm?
3-Is it possible to upgrade directly to firm 1.1.1 and then activate and unluck it?
4-Is the process safe for my phone or I will be ending with a useless locked phone?!!
5-Currently I don't have a GPRS or wireless network but I have a computer running windows XP and is connected to the internet.Are these enough to upgrade my iPhone to firm 1.1.1 and unlock it? I have already downloaded firms 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 to my computer.

using the *3001#12345#* command the firmware version is "03.12.06_G"
Please if possible show me the exact brief process to acheive this goal.I have read your useful topics about this but there is nothing regarding to the firm 1.0.0

1. update the phone to 1.0.2 by doing a full restore of 1.0.2
2. go to installer. install BSD
3. go to installer, add i.unlock.no to installer source
4. now, under install (in the installer), look for unlocking tools, look for virginizer for baseband 3.x.x
5. install it & run it
6. when done, restore phone to 1.0.2 (yes ... restore)
7. now you should have a LOCKED + unactivated 1.0.2 phone with 3.x.x baseband firmware
8. use apptapp and PACAY to jailbreak+activate the phone. After that use anySIM 1.1 to unlock

If you are happy at this point. then stop.
If you want 1.1.1 then

9. After step 7, restore phone to 1.1.1 - now you have a 1.1.1 phone with 4.01.xx baseband

10. Use CARNAVAL 0.8 to jailbreak+ activate phone and unlock phone using anySIM 1.1. Your phone should be working now.

11. If you are happy here, you can stop. If you want 1.1.2 then:

12. run oktoprep
13. "Update" to 1.1.2
14. jailbreak+activate
15. Use the airplane trick to run anySIM 1.2.1u

Done.
I'm giving you the basic outline. You have to search/read the forum .... Especially on 1.1.2 because it is new.

Same here - please let us know if you were successful. I have FW 1.0, modem FW 03.12.06_G unlocked with old version of AnySIM, would love to know how to revirginize before update so I don't end up with lockdown IMEI ...

Would be happy just to get to unlocked 1.0.2 at this stage as there are dozens of ways to go from there.
