Just received and refursbished iphone.. it supposed to be brand new.. .. But its already been activated i turned it on.. and go directly to springboard.. saying Waiting for activation.. This may take sometime.. when i searched in contacts in all contact.. theres a contact saying My Number: 1 (419) 819-8689.. when i connect to itunes it phone number says that number. So i try to unlock the iphone.. went to jailbreakme.com installed installer.. installed bsd.. and finally anysim.. put out the atnt sim.. put my sim from orange .. (i live in the dominican republic).. then after doing all the process its says that couldnt unlocked that sim.. .. i try several methods.. but none worked.. so testing.. i put the at n t sim.. did the unlocked with anysim it says succesfull when i remove and put back my sim.. incorrect sim.. What should i do?? HELP!

but wow... apple didn't even reinitiate the phone before it goes back to the market! damn it.

can you tell us what your modem firmware and what the begining numbers of your imei are you may be subject to a baseband downgrade, you can find this info in the about section of the general page

refurbished is not remanufactured.
however, it's not supposed to have any customized information on it.

Refurbs are phones that have been returned to apple for some reason. Either because someone decided they did not want it (within 14 days) or when someones phone is screwed up and they exchange it under warranty. Apple will make sure nothing is wrong fix anything that is and repackage it for shipping. the refurbs I have seen are already "activated" so if you they give you one at the genius bar theycan just pop in the sim and you don't have to be without a phone ubtil you get home.

Since you are on a roll with all your info posted openly, whats your SSN and your sister's phone number while you at it?

I just fixed it... i did a downgrade to 1.02.. using ibrickr... got the triangle screen.. so then i install apptapinstaller.. got the iphone activation screen.. unlock the phone using anysim... doing all this removed the phone number i was getting in contacts.. and youtube wasnt working... i was having fw 1.0.2 and 04.01.13_G so i apply virginize 04x i got my iphone unlocked then did a restore to 1.1.1...and follow this guide from unlocking a 1.1.1 iphone.. http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14384
