Exclamation HELP: iPhone wont turn on!

I bought my iphone 4 months ago and have had it unlocked ever since the first AnySIM came out.
I was running 1.1.1 unlocked fine until 2 days ago when the phone turned off while it was in my pocket and would not turn back on. The last thing I did with it was try it out in 3 or 4 different sound docks at best buy. The battery was a tad low so it may have died in my pocket.
I have had it on the charger for over 24 hours now and it STILL will not turn on, nor will the restore mode kick in when I hold the Power+Home button for 10 seconds (I've tried holding it for up to a minute with no luck).

Anyone had any luck with this problem?
    Any suggestions?

bring it to genius bar. if they cannot turn it on they will replace it. maybe the sound docks burn out your iphone.

    No luck.
The Genius Bar reps wont work on your phone unless your signed with AT&T so I told them the phone has been sitting in its box for months and I'm just now trying to activate it but it wont turn on.
Get this, he says "Hmm, someone may have owned this phone before you then because our records online indicate it has been ACTIVATED and USED before, but not with an AT&T sim."
    Ouch.
I pretended like I didnt know what a sim card was and left. I called Apple iPhone support just incase the Genius Bar rep was bluffing but they told me the same thing AND told me which month I "activated" it =\.
Guess a replacement is out of the question... battery replacement perhaps?

same thing happend to me. phone wouldnt turn on and when i brought it into see a genius, he said he couldnt replace it because it's never been activated it through at&t.

came back the next day and spoke to a manager, and he said the only way he would swap it out, is if i activated it there via itunes. seeing no other way to replace it (accept maybe sending it into apple for repair), i agreed. when i got home i just cancelled my service w/ at&t. so now i have a activated phone, i just cant unlock it since it's 1.1.2. otb.

but now when i try to sync it w/ itunes @ home, it says that the number isnt active w/ at&t. i need to try some other things and see if i can at least use it as a touch until (if) it ever gets unlocked.

Yea I still have the original receipt.

MrEBean, I might try my luck with that. The 1.1.2 unlock will be out once the new update comes out.
Im still wondering whether or not its worth sending it in for a battery replacement. Costs about $45 total at ipodjuice.com. I just wish there was a way I could be sure that the problem is JUST the battery and not the mobo.

When you canceled your service were you charged a cancellation fee?

no, at&t has a 30 cancellaton policy. i cancelled within a couple hours of signing up. i basically told at&t i thought my current provider contract was up when i signed up through itunes, and when i actually called my provoider to cancel, they told me i was still under contract, and that i didn't want to pay the cancellation fee.

they said no problem, and hopefully they will see me when my contract was up. that was just this past weekend, but they said i shouldnt even get a bill.

    HI,

my phone died. the battery was very low. i think the battery died as it went under and critical charge level. (LI-ION, if all the power is sucked the batterie will die)

so i tried 7 different chargers and 110v , 220V and charged it for 10days but it never came back.

i went to the apple store, told them that its my friends phone and that its not working .

they tried to charge it for one hour nothing happend, got a new phone .

if the batterie is dead they will give you a new one, doesnt matter if it were activated before etc.

if they ask if it has been sim-unlocked play dump and say what is a simcard?

You wouldn't say the word "simcard" when they say "sim-unlocked".
There is some guys in the genius bar with big ego, but they are not stupid.

my version: "if they ask if it has been sim-unlocked play dumb and say what is a simcard/jailbreak/oktoprep/baseband ? Who is geohot ? i don't know this guy, even he's the author of the first hardware unlock for the iPhone.

They will replace it without saying anything.
Thanks to SJ's Reality distortion field.

(Tips for success: you should wear a Black Turtleneck Collar and repeat "Boom" every 3 words)
